Don Bosco School, Malbasey, established in 1989, stands as the sole Salesian presence in the region. Located in West Sikkim, it occupies a plot graciously provided by the Sikkim Government, facilitated by the Darjeeling diocese. Concurrently, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny arrived in Malbasey to support the Salesians in managing the school and providing boarding facilities for girls. This partnership extended to overseeing the parish and its satellite stations. However, in January 2005, the Cluny Sisters concluded their collaboration, and the Missionary Sisters of Mary Help of Christians (MSMHC) assumed responsibility for the girls' boarding operations.
