Don Bosco Yuva Jyoti was inaugurated in 1998. The Centre offered non-formal vocational training courses in Driving, Motor Mechanics, Electricals, Auto-electrical, and tailoring. Each course lasts 6 months. Prison ministry was the new Apostolate undertaken by the community.

Berhampore parish was founded in 1855 by the Milan Fathers. It was given to the Salesians in 1928, as a part of Krishnagar diocese but later was entrusted in perpetuum to the Salesians on 29th October 1996. In 2010 an English medium school was also opened.
