Diamond Harbour, in South 24 Parganas, became part of the Salesians' mission in the Bengali region in 2001. Fr. M.C. Francis began residing in a flat at Kopat Hat, Diamond Harbour, after the parish was established there. The Christian community primarily resides in Noongola village along the Hooghly riverside, with Catholics also in Noorpur, Kulpi, Kamarpole, and Horinbari on Sagor Island. Chapels are established in Noongola and Kulpi, and coaching centers for primary children are operated in these areas. The Salesians prioritize both pastoral care and education, evident in the Skill development program under DB Tech and BASE, coaching centers, boarding facilities, and community outreach efforts across the region.
With its Skilling Programme run under Don Bosco Tech and BASE program, Don Bosco Diamond Harbor has provided training and placement opportunities to 1779 youngsters.
