Krishnanagar, June 21, 2024 — The 10th International Day of Yoga (IDY) was celebrated with vigor and enthusiasm at Don Bosco High & Technical School PVT ITI, Krishnagar. This year's theme, "Yoga for Self and Society," underscored the importance of yoga in fostering both individual well-being and communal harmony.
The event kicked off with warm-up exercises led by Sir Subhendu Debnath, an instructor at the school, involving over 120 first-year students from various trades. "The chanting of the shlokas and Yogasutras brought life to the celebration," remarked one participant, highlighting the spiritual ambiance of the session.
Mr. Aditya Das, the chief guest and a renowned yoga trainer, emphasized the importance of balancing diet, work, and sleep. He also demonstrated the Sun Salutation Pose (Surya Namaskar), detailing its health benefits. "Yoga can significantly improve our lifestyle and immunity," he noted, drawing connections between ancient practices and modern health.
The event concluded with additional tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Rev. Fr. Nanku Nicholas Besra, Assistant Principal, praised the successful celebration, while participants expressed gratitude towards Mr. Das for the enlightening session. "This has been a truly wonderful and insightful experience," said Rev. Fr. Manoj Hansda, Principal of the institute.
