Don Bosco Oodlabari hosts vibrant youth camp themed YOUTH5G

4 June 2024, Jalpaiguri: The annual 'YOUTH5G' camp at Don Bosco School, organized by Don Bosco Parish Oodlabari, brought together 230 youths from 12 Bagans. The event featured diverse activities aimed at fostering community and personal growth.

Inaugural activities included a welcome from Elun Kispotta and Fr. Tijo Thomas, along with the hoisting of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) flag. Participants were divided into 10 groups with wristbands for easy identification. Fr. VT Anthony presided over the Inaugural Holy Eucharist, and the first day included a friendship game to help youths get acquainted.

Coordinated by Bro. Roshan Ekka SDB and Bro. Sanjay Bilung SDB, with sessions led by Fr. Arvind Khalkho SDB, the camp covered topics such as "Love, Attraction & Marriage," "Knowing Oneself: Leadership Quality," and "Career."

Activities included Action songs, Cultural dances, Cultural Ramp walk, Bible quiz competitions, Friendship Games and Campfire night

Ethnic Day on June 2 featured participants in traditional attire, celebrating unity in diversity.

On June 3 the youth were led into prayer and spiritual renewal by Jesus Youth Team from Bagdogra Mailanijoth Parish. Many young people were led to confession through Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

The camp concluded with a Mass by Fr. Tijo Thomas, welcoming Fr. Aju Kurian, and a prize distribution ceremony. The SYM flag was handed over to Fr. VT Anthony, who officially closed the camp. Participants enjoyed a fellowship meal before departing.

Special thanks were extended to the Salesian Community, Ricky, Elun Kispotta and his volunteers, Bro. Roshan, Bro. Sanjay, and Mr. Daniel Hembrom. The YOUTH5G camp strengthened bonds among the youth, leaving a lasting impact on all participants.
