24 May, Waynad: Mount Bosco, Padivayal witnessed a momentous occasion as twelve Salesian novices made their first profession of vows, dedicating their lives to the Salesian Congregation. Among them were Nani Mardi, Nirmal Murmu, and Satish Saren, representing the Kolkata Province. The event, themed “Yours Alone, Jesus,” reflected the deep spiritual commitment of the novices as they embraced their new spiritual journey.
The ceremony was graced by Fr. Jose Koyical, the Provincial of Banglore Province who received the vows of the Novices. Fr. KJ Noble, the Director of Pre-Novices from the Kolkata Province, who was present to support and guide the novices from his province.
The event was attended by a significant number of priests and family members. A total of 60 priests were present, along with approximately 100 family members and relatives, who gathered to witness and celebrate this significant moment in the lives of the novices.
Following the homily, each novice stepped forward to pronounce their vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. This profound moment marked their official entry into the Salesian Congregation, as they committed themselves to the service of God and humanity. The ceremony, filled with spiritual fervor, was a testament to their dedication and the enduring legacy of Don Bosco and Mary Help of Christians.
The novices’ first profession is a significant milestone in their spiritual journey, as they begin their lives within the Salesian congregation. Their commitment is not only a personal milestone but also a source of inspiration for their families and the broader community. As they embark on this new path, they carry with them the prayers and support of their loved ones and the Salesian family.
